Reverse Signs of Aging, Facilitate Weight Loss, & Promote overall Wellness. Following are some research studies that point to the health benefits of Wulong/Oolong tea consumption. Scientists from Japan's University of Tokushima found that people who regularly consumed Oolong tea experienced more than twice the calorie-burning results compared to those who drank green tea.

A study published in the Journal of Medical Investigation found that women who consumed Wulong tea directly after a meal increased energy expenditure by 10%. This compared to an energy expenditure of 4% for green tea drinkers and 0 for water drinkers. Researchers at the Suntory Research Center in Osaka, found that drinking Wulong tea 15 minutes before eating foods high in carbohydrates curbed rises in insulin, thus reducing some of the fattening effects of carbohydrate intake.

Better Skin Condition Researchers from Japan's Shiga University found that drinking Wulong each day helps to clear up skin problems within one month. Dr. Kenichi Yanagimoto from the University of California found that people who drank Wulong tea on a daily basis experienced a fifty-percent reduction in free radicals within 15 days. Free radicals are damaging substances in the body that contribute to signs of aging, including wrinkles and dark spots that are caused by ultra-violet rays, chemical food additives, pollution and stress. Other diseases related to aging and caused in whole or part by free radical damage are cancer, Alzheimer's dementia, arthritis and inflammatory disease and heart/artery disease.

These free radicals are produced by stress, pollution, eating processed foods, chemical additives in many of the foods we eat etc. Many of the visible signs of aging, such as dark spots and wrinkling of the skin, have been strongly linked to increased levels of free radicals invading our body... day in, day out. The damaging process is certainly a gradual one.

Antioxidants are the best defense against free radicals. One of the best and enjoyable methods is to drink Wu-long tea (Oolong). Wulong Tea is rich in antioxidants, which destroy free radicals and are completely natural.

There are no side effects to drinking Wulong tea; it tastes great and is good for your soul! You are doing yourself a favor every time you drink a cup....slowly undoing the effects of aging. While black tea undergoes extensive fermentation, and green tea minimal withering and oxidation, the processing for Wulong falls somewhere in the middle of these two varieties.

Grocery store versions of Wulong or any teas have much lower levels of these antioxidants because the leaves have been extremely processed.

Different Varieties of Wulong/Oolong

Formosa Oolong,  is sometimes referred to as "the Champagne of Teas." It has an amber appearance and peach-like essence. Other types of Wulong Tea include these delightful varieties: Ti Kuan Yin: delicate peach flavoring with nutty undertones Tieguanyin is sweet to the palette & Shuixian is darker Oolong that features a spicy flavor.
To Make Tea all you need is

             1) Hot Water

             2) Steep Tea Leaves in Hot Water

             3)Remove Leaves to Drink

Infusers or Infuser Spoons are containers or spoons that open up & close around tea leaves. Allow the enclosed tea leaves for set in the hot water for at least 5 minutes, before removing to drink tea.

Many Tea Pots already have infusers inside them or holes in the spout to strain the tea leaves. Or you can simply place the leaves in the hot water to swirl around while steeping. Then pour the tea through a Tea Strainer to remove the leaves. Tea Leaves can also be placed inside Tea Bags for steeping.

How Much Tea is Used to Make Cup of Tea?

A) Black Tea is much stronger than other teas, so you only use ½ a teaspoon for a cup of tea. I use a drip coffee maker to make tea & use a heaping tablespoon of black tea for 12 cups. I let the leaves swirl freely  & then pour the tea through a tea strainer into a cup. I suggest using 2 heaping tablespoons of all teas other than black tea per a 12 cup drip coffee maker. Black tea requires 1 tablespoon for 12 cups.

B) White, Green, Red & Oolong Teas require 1 teaspoon per cup

C) Yellow & Teas require 1 to 1 ½ teaspoons per cup.  I suggest allowing these teas to steep for as long as 30 min.

If Tea tastes bitter, then it should be diluted w/ water. Some people like a super strong cup of tea, but others like a weaker flavor to the tea, so it is simply a personal preference.

Different kinds of Teas can be blended! Some love the flavor of Green Teas, but if you don't care for the flavor of green tea, you can blend w/ black or red teas to improve their flavor. Dried fruit can be added to flavor teas, or you can make a healthy punch drink from the fruit alone. Also add herbs to tea!

Dried Tea Fruit can be used to make a healthy fruit drink. I would start with one teaspoon per cup & add or take away according to you flavor preference. Stevia (available at Walmart) can be used to sweeten it & it is also an herbal supplement that's good for you.

True Tea Lovers believe Tea is more effective when served hot & when leaves are allowed to swirl freely in hot water. However, all teas are great served hot or cold.

Additional Compounds: Fatty Acids, Chlorophyll, Flavonols, Polyphenols, Trace Minerals, Antioxidants, Pathogenic Acid and 15 Amino Acids.

In 2005, researchers at the University of Illinois studied 25 different types of mate. They found the tea to contain higher levels of antioxidants than green tea, & based on cell studies, Yerba Mate may help prevent oral cancer.

Other studies have shown Yerba mate to possess up to 90% more metabolism-boosting nutrients than green tea! Mate also contains high concentrations of inorganic compounds. The minerals aluminum, chromium, copper, iron, manganese, nickel, potassium, and zinc are of particular interest due to their importance in human metabolism and development. One group of investigators concluded that Yerba Mate is high in Pathogenic Acid. It is rare to find a plant with so much of this significant and vital nutrient.

Black Kohosh- used by Native American for snakebite & joint problems. It is packed with nutrients, actein, cimicifugin, formononetin, salicylic acid, tannins & vitamin C, so it’s beneficial to men as well as women. However, women primarily take it as a remedy for hot flashes & mood swings caused by menopause. The herb is safe, because it does not stimulate the production of estrogen. Studies show that black cohosh could help prevent osteoporosis.

Ginger- lowers cholesterol levels, & treats allergies, asthma, arthritis, colds, nausea, migraines, seizure disorders, & reduces blood clotting to help prevent heart attack or stroke. Ginger can protect the lining of the stomach from alcohol damage & intestinal parasites & can help alleviate morning sickness in pregnant women. Ginger protects the body from carcinogenic effects of Depakote, a medication commonly prescribed for migraine and seizure disorders.

Black Midlife Tea has the same ingredients listed above, except it has no Chamomile & some caffeine. It’s blended with Cream flavored Black Tea to relax arteries to the heart so we can get more oxygen as we age. Black Tea is known as, “Wakeful Serenity,” in the Orient, because it calms the nerves as well as wakes us up. It is said to prevent heart attacks & strokes.

White Mid Life Tea is the same as above, but blended with White Tea instead of Chamomile so it has a small amount of caffeine. White is the healthiest Tea there is with the highest amount of antioxidants. It’s even healthier than
Green Teas.

Original Yellow Midlife Tea has Chamomile to help you sleep, to calm the nerves, & soothe the stomach. Chamomile calms the nerves & is high in antioxidants to prevent cancer, eases cardiovascular diseases, promotes longevity, mental agility, & is said to prevent diabetes. This claim stands on somewhat shaky foundations, but is supported by some studies.
Tea Helps Reverse Deadly Heart Condition

In 2007, I went to the doctor because I thought I had a cold that had moved into my lungs.  The doctor said, " You have congestive heart failure from an enlarged heart. " A pacemaker & defibulator was implanted.
I began by reducing my stress & daily exercise. I ate fruits, avocados & chicken breast & 8 cups of black tea a day, because black tea relaxes arteries to the the heart. This helped my heart get the oxygen it needed to heal. Doctors say I am a medical miracle. It's now 2013 & I seem to get younger everyday. At age 50, my heart has returned to normal & I have a normal life expectancy. Doctors say I am a medical miracle.

The second I swallow fresh gourmet black tea, I can feel the arteries to my heart expanding & it instantly relaxes my nerves. A cup of black tea is & energizing & relaxing, like taking a deep breath on a cool day. (you get half as much oxygen with each breath, on a hot humid day.)

Tea from grocery stores is of poor quality. It's dried up old tea. Try fresh gourmet tea today & see the countless affects of improving your immune & cardiovascular system. All tea calms the nerves & is packed with vitamins, nutrients & much needed antioxidents. Tea has a stronger affect on my heart, than a glass of wine. Try it & see if it does the same for you!
Story of the Tea Cup

There was a couple who went to a famous English Tea Emporium & China Shop, known for it's priceless treasures, to buy a gift to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They both loved antique porcelain & they asked to see a spectacular tea cup locked in a crystal leaded showcase amongst antique heirloom jewels & diamonds.

The sales lady handed them the tea cup & the tea cup said, "You don't understand, I have not always been a tea cup. There was a time when I was just a lump of red clay. My master pounded me over & over again, until I yelled out, Stop! Let me alone!" But he smiled gently & said, "Not yet!"

WHAM! I was placed on a spinning wheel & suddenly I was spun around & around over & over again at incredible speeds. "Stop it! I'm getting sick! I screamed, cried & begged, but the maker only nodded & said quietly, "Not Yet!" He spun me poked, prodded & bent me out of shape. Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I knocked & pounded at the door, & cried. "Help! Get me out of here!"

"When I couldn't take another minutes of it, the door opened. He carefully took me out, & I began to cool. Oh, that felt so good! But I didn't get to rest for long. The next thing I knew he was brushing & stroking me all over & the fumes were so horrible, I thought I was gonna die!

He put me back into the oven & it was twice as hot. I begged & cried, fearing I would surely die. Then he took me out & I wondered what terrible thing he would do to me next? But this time he only smiled as he handed me a mirror. I wiped away tears & couldn't believe my eyes & said, "This can't be me, I'm beautiful!"

Quietly, he said, "I know it hurt to be rolled & pounded, but if I'd of left you alone, you would have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I knew it hurt & was hot in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked."

"The fumes were horrible, but if I hadn't painted you, you would have no color. I had to put fire to you in that oven a 2nd time to refine you, or you wouldn't have survived.""I have turned you into a fantastic creation, a priceless treasure, an exquisite beauty to behold & there is no other tea cup like you!

God knows what He's doing in each of us. He is the potter, & we are the clay. He will mold us & expose us to pressures to refine us into a priceless masterpiece.

Tea is rich in disease-fighting antioxidants called poly-phenols which can help prevent chronic diseases. Mayo Clinic researchers say a component of green tea (BC3CG) destroys B-cell chronic lymphocyte leukemia cells by interrupting the communication signals they need to survive.

Drinking all types of tea including herbal teas and fruit teas help protect the heart by relaxing the blood vessels, inhibiting blood clots, and improving blood-cholesterol levels.  A combined analysis of 13 published studies found an average estimated 11% lower rate of heart attacks among study participants who drank 3 cups of tea per day.

Dr. Jack F. Bukowski, assistant professor medicine at Harvard Medical School and discovered that tea drinking (at least 6 cups a day) boosts your immune system through activating certain components of the immune system called gamma delta T-Lymphocytes, maintaining a heightened state of readiness against bacterial, viral, parasitic, osteopathic diseases.

Black Tea is the most processed & is a condensed form of tea with 1/3 as much caffeine as coffee. Green is the 2nd least processed Tea & over 10 years of research has been completed on Green Tea. We know White Tea is even healthier than Green, because White Tea is the least processed, but a 10 year study of White Tea is still forthcoming, so doctors prefer to recommend Green until the study is completed.

It is also noted that it is easier for the body to absorb vitamins & nutrients into the blood stream from drinking tea, than it is for the body to absorb pills containing herbal supplements in dried powder form.

Black tea can also help prevent heart attack and stroke by saving arteries. In a test done by Dr. Joseph Vita, of the Boston University School of Medicine, he had some heart patients drink plain water, and the others black tea. After a month, the patients who drank the tea showed impaired blood vessel functioning had improved by 50%!

In a related 10 year study done in the Netherlands, men who consumed 3 cups of black tea daily decreased their chances by 50% of dying from heart disease.Black tea also helps prevent tooth decay, can lower cholesterol, act as an arthritis soother, and may help folks burn fat.

New research done by Milton Schiffenbauer of Pace University suggests that drinking either green or black tea can help wipe out viruses in your mouth, (like herpes), and also help prevent diarrhea, pneumonia, cystitis, and skin infections. He states that these teas deactivate such viruses.

Studies done at Rutgers University reveal that black tea may help prevent stomach, prostate, and breast cancer. The chemicals found in black tea show it may slow down cancer growth. A compound called TF-2 causes such cancer cells to commit suicide, while normal cells remain unaffected.

A very new study indicates that Black Tea Caffeine (Theine) can relieve fatigue, improve brain power performance, reduces the risk of heart disease and many other diseases. It has been shown to be a stimulant, & increase speed in reaction time, increase alertness, and to improve concentration. Black tea has 1/3 as much caffeine as coffee & is called, Wakeful Serenity, because it calms the nerves as well as wakes you up.

Black Tea stimulates the digestive juices, the kidneys, and the metabolism, which helps eliminate toxins in the body. Our muscle action is improved, the heart and respiratory system is stimulated, and more oxygen is brought through the body. Anyone with heart trouble is not getting enough oxygen to the body & this hurts our brain as well as our body.
Recently, Japanese scientists have found that Rooibos tea contains the enzyme Super Oxide Dismutase, an antioxidant which attacks the free radicals and limits their damaging effects. Rooibos also helps to relieve stomach ulcers, nausea, constipation, and heartburn. Have a cup of Rooibos before you get ready for bed to ensure a good night's sleep!  Rooibos has been found to help with insomnia, disturbed sleeping patterns and headaches. It contains no caffeine and has a relaxing effect on the central nervous system.

Rooibos helps to give you strong bones and teeth because of its calcium, manganese and fluoride content. Rooibos helps pacify infants with colic, stomach cramps and sleeping problems. Simply mix some Rooibos tea with expressed breast milk or formula.  It is 100% natural with no colorants or preservatives. It is a mother's miracle.

Rooibos contains alpha hydroxy acid and zinc for healthy, smooth skin. This wonder tea is especially useful when applied to skin irritations like itchy skin, eczema, sunburns, diaper rash and acne. Put used rooibos tea bags in the refrigerator or freezer.  After a hard day's work, put on tired or red eyes to soothe and relax. Rooibos contains magnesium which is necessary for a healthy nervous system. Rooibos increases the absorption of iron in the body.

Rooibos is often prescribed for nervous tension and mild depression as it makes a relaxing sedative. Rooibos contains no oxalic acid and can be enjoyed by persons suffering from kidney stones. Rooibos helps to control your appetite & can help you recoup after a hangover. Rooibos makes a great thirst-quencher and sport drink., because of its mineral content of iron, potassium, zinc, manganese and sodium, it restores the body's equilibrium after strenuous exercise. Rooibos tea is rich in minerals, such as iron, calcium, potassium, copper, fluoride, manganese, zinc, magnesium, and alpha hydroxy.

Health benefits of Rooibos tea include cure for nagging headaches, insomnia, asthma, eczema, bone strength, hypertension, allergy, aging and others. It's also good for Bones: Red tea is rich in calcium, manganese and fluoride minerals that assist in good bone structure and stronger teeth.

Green tea has been used as a medicine in China for at least 4,000 years, to treat everything from headaches to depression. Japanese scientists at the Saitama Cancer Research Institute found there were fewer recurrences of Breast Cancer, and the disease spread less quickly, in women with a history of drinking five cups or more of Green Tea.

Today, scientific research is providing hard evidence for the health benefits of  drinking  green tea. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

Drinking green tea is reputed to help prevent or help our body heal from Cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, high cholesterol levels, cardiovascular disease, infection, impaired immune function, & weight reduction.

The secret of green tea lies is (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. Green Tea has also been effective in inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots & prevents heart attack & strokes.

There is new evidence that green tea can even help dieters. In November, 1999, researchers found that men who were given a combination of caffeine and green tea extract burned more calories than those given only caffeine or a placebo.

Green tea can even help prevent tooth decay! Just as its bacteria-destroying abilities can help prevent food poisoning, & the bacteria that causes dental plaque.

All Tea comes from the same plant. It is the processing that makes one a black tea & another one green. Green is the 2nd least processed Tea. We know White Tea is even healthier than Green, because White Tea is the least processed & has the most antioxidants.

White Tea Antioxidants are nutrients that protect the body from damage by free radicals. Free radicals wreak havoc on your body, damaging DNA and accelerating aging. Antioxidants scoop them up and neutralize them. White tea protects against cancer, heart disease, and stroke, as well as numerous other conditions. White tea strengthens the circulatory and immune systems, bones and teeth, and builds healthy skin.

Cancer Prevention: White tea may have profound power against cancer-causing cells and against many different types of cancer, such as colon, prostate, and stomach cancers. Antioxidants inhibit the growth of cancer cells and prevent the development of new ones. White tea has been found to work as well as prescription drugs, but without the side effects.

Lower Blood Pressure Studies show that white tea can thin the blood and improve artery function. It helps lower high blood pressure and maintain a healthy one. By promoting strong and healthy blood vessels, white tea guards against the ravages of stroke.

Lower Cholesterol -Antioxidants have been found to reduce cholesterol, and white tea is teeming with them. Cholesterol is a special type of fat and is necessary for health. There is good cholesterol and bad cholesterol, and white tea increases the good while decreasing the bad. This helps prevent hardening of the arteries and blockage of blood flow.

Heart Protection By thinning the blood, lowering blood pressure, and reducing cholesterol, white tea protects the heart and the entire circulatory system. Researchers have also discovered that people who drink 2 or more cups of tea a day are almost 50% less likely to die after suffering a heart attack.

Stronger Bones Studies have found that people who drank tea regularly had greater bone density and strength than non-drinkers. White tea may also have beneficial effects for sufferers of arthritis and osteoporosis.

Antibacterial & Antiviral White tea is a natural killer of bacteria and viruses. The antioxidants so abundant in white tea tone the entire immune system, providing protection against a variety of invaders and a wide range of diseases. Its helps guard against the common cold and flu, and can ease the symptoms of HIV.

Healthy Teeth and Gums. White tea contains small amounts of fluoride and other nutrients which keeps the teeth strong and healthy. It also kills the bacteria which causes plaque, tooth decay, and bad breath.

Healthy Skin Free radicals from staying out in the sun too long, stress, and a poor diet can damage the skin and cause it to prematurely age. By scavenging these free radicals, white tea protects the skin and helps to reverse some of the damage. Drinking white tea promotes healthy and radiant skin.

Other Health Benefits White tea has many other benefits to offer. Studies are still under way, but it believed that White Tea reduce blood sugar and may help prevent and alleviate the symptoms of diabetes. It reduces stress and increases energy.

White tea may aid in weight-loss Studies suggest tea may increase metabolism and encourage the body to burn more fat, but a balanced diet and regular exercise are more likely to produce results. Still, adding white tea to your weight-loss plan can't hurt. White Tea has a great range of effects on the body and it's supreme power is in preventing disease.

Recommended for Children & Nursing Mothers as a natural sleep aid. Yellow tea is harvested earlier in the year, while the leaves are still buds, so it retains all the antioxidants that have been produced throughout the growth process. Yellow tea is oxidized by less than ten percent. The young leaves don't lose more than 10% of their antioxidants throughout the drying and steaming process.

Health claims about Yellow Tea include...

Prevents cancer. This one is pretty well established, and strong evidence exists through the Asian Paradox, among other studies. Be advised that the beneficial and preventive effect takes time to build up. Yellow Tea is believed to help a person deal with stress & aids in prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Yellow Teas antioxidants promotes longevity by destroying free radicals (closely linked to cell damage and cell death, which appears to be the cause of why we age). Yellow Teas are believed to help prevent diabetes & improve mental agility. It's also used to treat sore stomachs and irritable bowel syndrome. The soft, smooth taste is very soothing to the stomach and the compounds within the Chamomile have medical benefits for the stomach beyond the soothing flavor.
Tea may Prevent Cancer Tumors

Mice who had been genetically engineered to develop prostate cancer, and who drank about six cups a day did not develop cancer. The Chinese have the lowest prostate cancer rate in the world and drink the most tea.

4. Tea leaves have fluoride, which increase bone density and guard against osteoporosis and tooth decay. Those who drink 3-5 cups a day have a higher bone mineral density, so they have less brittle bones than those who don’t drink teas says Dr. Bukowski. He also states this same element may be a factor in helping certain types of hearing loss, such as ostoscierosis.
